Walking On Water | A Poem

As I was watching Your eyes...

I was walking on water,

Felt like walking on nothing.

Thoughts, doubts- came crowding,

Fear filled me in and then I was drowning.

The water sealing like an envelope around me.

Down to the bottom...

No air-

Felt like I was dying.

Tears mixed with water,

You heard my silent crying.

I felt Your hand cut through the water,

and through the weight of my sin.

I felt Your hand in mine.

Then I began to trust You again.

The air filling me.

I felt your love surround me,

It carried me up,

it pulled me past the invisible boundary-

to the surface once again.

Beyond the impossiblilties.

So that I could begin walking on water,

Once again.
