Dear Lord, (the Beginning of this Blog)

"Dear Lord,"

Yeah, that is what you would see if you glimpsed into my prayer journal “Dear Lord,”… and a lot of other things too. Hurts, hopes, humor, things I'm thankful for, people I’m praying over, processing pains, discovering who I am in Christ, doodles, poems and scripture.

So that is what I’m going to do here! Show you my whole journal? Heck no! That’s way too much incredible super sauce for your eyes. JK. But in seriousness, this will be like my own messy prayer journal. It is my walk and talk with God.

I dunno about how you see it, but I experience quiet moments of conversation with God in a lot of different and uniquely beautiful ways. Sometimes He sings to me through a worship song, or a scripture sticks out blazing into the depths of my soul, and sometimes it is when my friend texts me a GIF that cheers me up at that exact moment when I was complaining about no one being there. Just me?

I also find God meets me through other conversations and books. Like I’ll pray about a hurt and being scared and I’ll end up reading a Dr. Henry Cloud book on Trust or hear Anne Wilson’s voice sing Strong over YouTube auto-play. Those sweet moments of discovering God is what I want to share. It is my ongoing conversation with Him that brings me joy, healing, and hope.

I'd like to invite you to feel safe to be messy with me. Cry over coffee if you will. Laugh until you snort. Feel like this is a judgment-free zone that still challenges you to grow further into the beautiful you, you already are.

So here is to small beginnings.
