Dear El Elohim,
If you have read the post: Knowing God. you will have found that getting to know who God is actually benefits your overall well-being. I think that is incredibly cool. In addition, Psalms 9:10 really stuck out to me while I was reading. It says, "Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you."
The more I know God's names the more I trust Him? It's on. I really want to know who God is and to trust Him with my life.
BTW cool fact. I started creating temporary tattoos to be a reminder of who He is as I discover the names…
I’m starting with El Elohim. Why you ask? Well. This intriguing name has come up in many songs recently and it is BEAUTIFUL. I love listening to the Hebrew word for God being used. While I sang praises to Elohim during worship along with the congregation, I really would like to know the meaning behind His name that I am singing about. (List of songs at the end)
אֱלֹהִים Elohim
"ʼĕlôhîym, el-o-heem'; plural of H433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative:—angels, × exceeding, God (gods) (-dess, -ly), × (very) great, judges, × mighty."
I pulled this definition from the Blueletterbible and they pulled it from the Strong’s by Dr. James Strong in 1890. But what in the world is it trying to say? Thankfully, The Bible Project talks about Elohim. They describe the word as a title for spiritual beings and that God would be Elohim of Elohim; just like He would be King of kings or Lord of lords.
Elohim in essence is God being the One true God above all other spiritual beings. Or another way to say it is “God Most High”.

Dear El Elohim, I know I haven’t addressed You this way before. But I love that name of Yours. I’m sorry for the times I put things above You. I want You to be my Elohim of Elohim. The God most high in my life. The One above all else. The reason I wake up and the One who directs my steps.
Did some more digging. I landed on this article from Answers in Genesis that points out the first name of God, Elohim, referring to "God as the Creator". Hmmm... this is cool. I love how deep Hebrew is. Its' meaning just keeps on giving.
Lord, please continue to reveal Yourself as El Elohim in my life. Write on my heart and mind who You are. I’m sure I have much to learn. Amen.
