A Letter to the Plant in My Room

To the plant in my room:
I realize I’m more like you than I thought. I stay pretty thirsty, and need that daily watering. If I don’t get it, my leaves start drooping low and turning that questionable yellow. And my flowers bend their head in exhaustion.
It takes more water than I thought to keep you alive. Kinda like I need a lot more of God's word in my heart to keep a bloomin’ radiantly. Thanks for teaching me this, oh! … and when I forget to water you. I’m sorry.
Hey plant! Me again. You got great lessons… I was watching this gardener dude take care of what looked like your siblings. No offense, but they were doing better than you look right now. And he kept going to one by one and cutting off the dead or unnecessary blooms and leaves. It made me think about me and you. We need to get rid of things in our lives that are killing us slowly. It looks like growth, but a good pruning would allow even more vibrant growth.
Ouch. The idea of pruning sounds terrible. But I know growth would be good for both of us now. (And water).
Anyways, continue growing my plant friend! Don't worry if takes time to do so. We all need time to bloom and grow.
sincerly,
MJ
