Who Are You? - A Poem

Who are You? Do You not see.
Who are You? They cry, we pray.
Why would Israel mourn.
Why would Iran cry.
Why would children die.
If I don’t know You,
Then who am I?
Do You love them?
It feels dumb to ask.
You sent Your Son to die.
He died for them, For me.
I should understand, I should see.
You defeated death,
I note that- not grasp it.
That’s it.
Your life was the key,
Your love was a choice.
You bled and died and rose all so that we would see.
Love is a choice.
You gave us love.
Some choose to accept it, others not.
You made earth good.
When we choose You, we reflect Your light.
You see.
You hurt for Israel, Iran, Afghanistan.
You love them.
It is not about why it is not good here on earth.
It is about that You made a way for it to be good again.
They need to know Your love.
Your redemption plan.
Until the light pierces the darkness I do not understand light. Until joy breaks through suffering I cannot fully comprehend joy, Nor I Your love without choice.
If you choose Him,
His way,
His light,
In this life:
To live is Christ and to die is gain.
Who are You?
Who am I?
You are my Lover,
My Father,
The One who sees.
You are the One who has prepared a place for You beloved believers to be.
I am a light bearer.
A reflection of Your goodness to earth.
Awaiting the goodness of Your presence.
Rejoicing knowing that one day-
Every knee should boy,
Every nation and tongue would know:
You are God.
with joy,
MJ
