Christ's Love - A Poem

I see the sparkle light as You look at me,

I feel a new love I’ve never felt,

I and beginning to understand living free.

I feel so undeserving that You choose to love me,

But it wasn’t that You’ve run out of options,

For it was You who shaped me.

A diamond forged from my story,

The ashes You tenderly tended to.

You held me in Your arms- a prodigal in a sense.

I’ve thought that I was undeserving,

But You’ve taught that it’s not about earning,

For Your love comes for free.

The red, red, blood of Christ,

That came and covered me,

It’s a mercy that I cannot fully comprehend.

That You desire to walk with me,

That You come down white as snow,

That You’ll carry that sword- and carry me home.

with love,

MJ
